ASK Kisii branch opens its doors

The Southern Kenya branch of the agriculture show opens its doors at the middle of this month.

Farmers were encouraged to attend the annual event, set to be staged in Kisii between July 12 and 15.

ASK Kisii branch chair  Julius Bosire said that preparations were almost complete and many exhibitors had shown interest.

Bosire said farmers should take advantage to learn more new farming technologies during the show so that they can implement in  their farms.

“I would like to advise farmers to take advantage during this show to learn more farming technologies. Let them ask questions and the exhibitors will respond,” he said.

The chairman said 50 exhibitors had shown interest by the time we went to press.

He said that government agents had set measures of ensuring there is enough security during the show.

“We have held a meeting with security agents and they have assured us of enough security,” he said.

Adults will pay Sh200 while children will pay Sh50 less. Special parties will pay Sh100.

He dismissed rumors going round that the show venue was moved to Itierio sports ground due to ongoing upgrade works at Gusii Stadium.

“We want to let all residents know that the show will be held at Gusii show ground. We will use Erera golf ground for our arena since our stadium is under construction,” he said.

He hailed the Kisii county Government under the leadership of governor  James Ongwae  for assisting them to murrum some roads within the show ground..

The theme of this year’s show is: Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade.
