Kisii will host the 4th edition of the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) summit.
The summit will take place on 10th and 11th and will bring stakeholders from the 14 counties which form the bloc.
The block is chaired by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
Other counties in the bloc include Nandi, Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira and Bomet.
Kisii Governor James Ongwae said his government was ready to host the visitors.
In a statement to newsrooms, Ongwae said each of the counties has its strengths and weaknesses.
“My government fully supports the formation of the LREB,” he said.
He said each of the counties will leverage on its economics of scale and expand its market.
He said joining forces will make the 14 million people in the black realize the fruits of devolution faster.
“The county assembly of Kisii has ratified instruments that give ground for us to join the bloc,” he said.
The governors from the region have among other things pushed for the formation of a regional bank.
