425 in quarantine set free

425 people have been released from Kaplelach quarantine centre in Uasin Gishu County.

The facility is designated to hold individuals arrested for breaking Coronavirus preventive protocols.

100 of them were released Friday.

Speaking at the facility, Deputy Governor, Daniel Chemno advised them to follow the government’s guidelines aimed at curtailing the spread of the Corona virus.

“I urge you to adhere to the advise given by the public health officers. If we cannot follow these regulations, the virus will spread and cause enormous harm on us,” said Chemno.

He further asked the released persons to be great ambassadors by informing others the essence to follow the set guidelines.

He was accompamied by the county commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa.

“Through partnership with the county government and the national government, we have seen success in providing services at the quantine centre. We call upon those who were released to adhere to the regulations. We will continue monitoring you after you get out of here,” said Jaldesa.

He added that those who are still being held there are women and chang’aa brewers .

Also present was County Secretary Edwin Bett who urged residents to observe guidelines aimed at taming the spread of the virus.

“I urge you to always follow laws and guidelines set by the government in order to aid in halting further spread of virus,”Bett said.
