Uasin Gishu County Executive Member for Health Mrs Everlyne Rotich has pledged the government’s unwavering support to those who test positive for COVID-19.
She was speaking today after paying a visit to the patients currently being treated at Kamalel isolation center for Covid-19 virus.
“I have visited here to give you assurances of government’s full support to you and your family as you receive medication,” Mrs. Rotich said.
According to Mrs. Rotich, the county has six COVID- 19 patients isolated at Kamalel.
39 others believed to have come into contact with the patients are on quarantine.
The county executive also visited healthcare providers who are housed in a special isolation center, having worked at Kamalel COVID-19 isolation unit.
She hailed them for their exemplary service and dedication to the fight against the novel Corona virus.
Officers at Kamalel unit are divided into teams covering a week long Rota followed by a 14- day quarantine to ensure they have not contracted the virus before they are integrated into the general population.
The county has always been in the forefront in putting measures aimed at keeping Corona virus at bay.
Kenya has so far recorded 1161 Corona Virus cases and 50 have succumbed to the disease.
